Health and Disability Services Standards Review

November 6, 2017 What's New

The Ministry of Health is in the process of reviewing the Health and Disability Services Standards. They are required to do so under Section 24 of the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001. The Act requires regular review of the service standards to assess whether existing standards should continue unchanged, be amended, or be replaced. The current standards were last revised in 2008 and a review of these standards has begun.

The potential changes from this review can impact providers that are currently certified by the Ministry of Health for the provision of Health and Disability Services as defined by the Act.

The Ministry of Health has welcomed the opportunity for feedback and if you would like to take part in this process please follow the instruction on the link below which will take you directly to the Ministry of Health feedback site.

Provide your feedback here

The team at Q-Audit highly recommend that Hospitals, Rest Homes, and Residential Disability Care providers take the opportunity to provide feedback. You can help shape the future state of these standards and how they impact on your sector.

The feedback closes on Friday 25 August 2017.

We will continue to keep you updated as we have more information to share with you about this review.
